It was 11 PM on a Tuesday when our Slack channel exploded. A popular creator mentioned our tool in a video, and suddenly we had 10,000 people trying to access our site simultaneously. The fix was not glamorous. We enabled connection pooling, optimized slow queries, and added caching.
